This is a little beginning picture. Just so you know this is not when we were camping.
Before we went camping we swam in Cape Cod at Hoxie Pond.We went to 2 places when we were camping. The first place was White Mountains and the second trip was Maine. I'll talk about White Mountains first.
The ground was rocky - you know, little rocks all over the campsite but not into the woods. Mama thinks that we got the best campsite and I do too because we got the campsite that had a path down to the river. Of course there was a path to the road but we had a little secret path that went right into the woods to the little river. We could see a great view from the field by the bathrooms but we didn't climb that one because Theo couldn't climb the ladders. Mama and Dada would have to lift him up.
This is what it looks like from the bathroom. I wish I could cut Claire out of that picture and make it me. I can do a great cartwheel too.
The river was really really cold. But we found another river behind the first river and that was cold and kind of warm. We had to go over rocks and fallen trees to get to the warm patch of water. Sometimes we had to go through the water with our shoes and everything. John and Claire found a sign made out of rocks that said "our happy place".
We went to many high high mountains but we didn't walk to any but we took the car. The first mountain we climbed was Mount Willard and it was kind of small. I kind of wanted a little more. But it was good. And we met some people that were going over to a higher mountain (but I don't know the name of it but maybe Dada does - I'll ask him and then I'll tell you) but the path didn't go there so they had to turn around.
This is me on the top of Mount Willard when I was enjoying my trail mix. I think the best part of the trail mix was the jelly beans because they last in my mouth.
We saw a waterfall that was 100 feet and a waterfall that was 200 feet. At the 100 feet one we had no swimming suits but we all wanted to take off our clothes and go swimming but we couldn't because other people were there. But I could swim in my underpants if I wanted to because I am only 6. But we weren't staying long and if I didn't want wet underwear I would have to take them off and I would really not like to (but it would really cool my body off). We wore our swimsuits to the 200 foot waterfall but Mama and Dada didn't swim because there was no swimming hole.
And we saw a Spruce Grouse and then we saw an old man. He came from Florida and had walked all the way from there and he was going all the way along the Appalachian Trail up to Canada. And he was 73.
I think now I will stop writing and I will put some photographs on and I will do another post tomorrow about the second camping trip.
