The boys saw a Wood Sandpiper which is a mega rarity. The Wood Sandpiper got blown across the North Atlantic Ocean. Poor Wood Sandpiper. If you want to read more about it look at John's blog (www.johnsbirdingblog.blogspot.com)
John spotted an Evening Grosbeak and a Ruff.
Ben spotted 2 Lark Sparrows. They were all life birds.
The boys were trembling. Just before they saw the Wood Sandpiper Ben had said that they never see good birds. But that was true until now.
Theo's week went like this: he was itchy, he was kicking himself raw and then when we went to our grandparents house it got not better but worse. We still do not know what the itching was caused by but he is on 3 types of medication (and by the end of this post he is on 4).
Yesterday Mama and Dada and Ben and John and our uncle went for a run and my grandmother and me and Anna were walking the same loop but the opposite way around. We were wondering where they had gotten to then we saw our uncle walking with his dog. He said that Theo and his dog Ginger had chased a deer and then Theo came back with about 20 porcupine quills on his face. Ginger had already been quilled before so she had just stood there and barked at it and didn't get any (well thats what we think). But he was wrong he had over 100 quills in him and on him. There were some in his throat, some in his paws, some in his tongue and all over his nose. I was not there when it happened and the way my family described it makes me happy that I didn't see it! When I saw him after he had been to the vet he kept on stopping, holding up his paw, biting his butt (because he is still itchy). Theo is still acting dopey and we had to encourage his to get up and go to the bathroom because he had not gone for 24 hours.
I feel really bad for him. I wish that Theo had a great week and that the boys had a regular week instead.
